Mammograms can be used to check for breast cancer in women who have no signs or symptoms of the disease. Getting a high-quality screening mammogram and having a clinical breast exam is highly recommended after a certain age, as it’s the most effective way to detect breast cancer early. Unfortunately, many women skip the screenings simply because of the awkwardness that surrounds mammography.
Two women — one of which has overcome breast cancer, have started an initiative called ”Mamming”. It basically works like this: place your boobs on random things in random places, take a picture and upload it to Instagram (#Mamming). With this humorous inintiative, Michelle Jaret and Michelle Lamont hope to inspire women to take action and get a mammogram early if they suspect a problem. Some might call it immature but it’s still a noble initiative. At the very least, it’s a good excuse for guys to stare at lots of boobs. Awesome work we say!
